Overview

 

Arnison Crag is the first walk depicted in Book 1 of Wainwrights Fell walking guides. Easily reached from

the main road running through Patterdale and what I would describe as a “filler in” to do if the weather is

too uncertain for a more longer walk

 

The walk starts outside the White Lion Inn car park in Patterdale. There is space for several cars at the 
side of the main road

Follow the path that runs between the car park and some houses

After about 5 minutes of easy walking the path leads to a gate which gives access to the open fell side
