The intended walk was to do Base Brown, Green and Great Gable but the weather deterred going any further from the first

summit. Quite disappointing considering that this was June

The path leads to Seathwaite slabs which can be a little tricky, requiring a bit of rock handling

The track levels slightly from here on as it heads towards Gillercombe climbing very gently towards the Col between
Base Brown on the left and Green Gable directly ahead

The steep and scrambly Nort face provides the quickest route up to the summit and passes Wainwrights’ “Fallen Stone”

 

Nearing the top of the track towards the Col. From there a left turn provides an easy route towards Base Brown summit
