Walk Overview
A straightforward circular walk with good paths throughout. A steep pull up
right at the very start of the walk from off the Woodland Fell Road but no
navigational issues or exposures
Along the A5092 just before Beanthwaite, take a road branching off to the right
(the Woodland Fell Road) and travel just slightly over 2 miles and a number of
small laybys allow free parking for a few vehicles
The start of the path at Giants Grave

The wide grass track (largely free from bracken) climbs steeply
Looking West towards Stickle from the path
After about 30 minutes climbing the track levels off briefly
Looking back to the Woodland Fell road
The track cuts through a series of rock outcrops
Approaching the summit of Blawith Knott
The summit cairn on Blawith Knott
Spud is wondering what all the fuss is about as the steep climing comes to an end

We now set off for Tottlebank Heights. The wide grass path is easy to follow
and approaches the summit from the ridgeline seen to the left
The path meanders gently through an area of bracken as it swings right
Just over the raise and the path leads to the southern end of an Unnamed Tarn
The Unamed Tarn. Tottlebank Heights is just to the right of this
On the summit approach, the summit cairn stands prominent

The track from the summit down to the return path is a little confusing initially
as there are several obvious tracks to chose from. The aim is to take the least
obvious track that heads in the general direction of Caw (in the far distance)
The track heads towards some rock outcrops before it drops down
to get on the main path
There is a slight drop to negotiate to get on the main path
but nothing too strenuous
The main track back to the start that skirts the base
of Tottlebank Heights
Keep an eye out for the fork in the path and take the right hand track
The track now passes along the Eastern side of Tottlebank Heights
The path cuts through an area of bracken as it swings right to join
on to the main path back that goes past the Farm
On the main track. Good walking here
Passing Tottlebank Farm
This track now leads back to the Woodland Fell Road
Looking across to Caw from the return path
Eventually we arrive back at the Woodland Fell Road and the waiting car
