Walk Overview

A short and very popular walk from the centre of Bowness town. Astonishing
views from the summit

The car park at the start of the walk

Any of the major car parks will do as a start point. we chose the one
half way up Crag Hill going out of the town. We paid £4 for 2 hours

Walking round the back of the Belsfield Hotel

From which ever car park you chose, head for the road that runs up behind
the Belsfield Hotel the A5074

Take the left turn up Post Knot

Turn left and walk along Post Knot

Head up towards the houses

Walk along the road towards the big house (currently under restoration) and
watch out for a very narrow path on the left that leadsw upwards

The side path

Blink and you will miss the path

The path leads to a handgate

Carry on through the hand gate and into a wooded area

The wooded area

The path is easy to follow as it cuts through the wooded area

The clearing leading on to the open fellside

Fairly soon the path leads into a clearing and a wooden gate at the foot
of the open fell side

Through the gate
