Walk Overview

High Rigg from St Johns in the Vale is an excellent small Fell to introduce someone
new to Fell walking and offers some fantastic views out towards Keswick

The start of the walk


Heading North through St Johns in the Vale take a left at a signpost for the
Church and Diocesan Youth Centre. There is free parking for several cars

Carry on down the path and through the gate that leads to the open Fell side
immediately on the left

The path climbs gently past a bench and skirts the left hand side of the crags

The well defined path


The well defined path is easy to follow

A dense area of bracken


The bracken becomes thicker; however the path zig-zags its way towards the summit
mound which is approached from the left
