Walk Overview

One of those heaven sent days were you start the walk in thick fog then get to
the summit to find yourself above the clouds and blue skies and sunshine.
A simple walk from Bampton with no navigational issues. We approached
Bampton from Shap via a minor road off the A6 in Shap that turns off left
signposted for Rosgill.

There is limited parking on the approach to Bampton

The start of the Farm track

About 100 yards North of where we parked a road leads off on the right to
Scarside Farm

The higher we climbed out of the fog the views start to open up
I think this is called a "fog bow"

The wall at the plantation

We arrive at the Inscar Planation and the track swings left

The track runs parallel to the wall

The track runs parallel to the wall for around half a mile

The track branches left

Towards the end of the Plantation wall the track veers away to the left
We now get an early view of what we were to experience

Heading towards the summit

The track is easy to follow as it heads to the highest point of the fell

The track passes an area of Limestone outcrops

The cloud lifts

Approaching the summit Trig circle, the fog starts to lift and we
are in for a magnificent cloud inversion
