Walk Overview
A walk to demonstrate to somebody who has never Fell walked why Fell walking
in Lakeland is so good
The walk starts at White Moss Car parks just off the A591 heading out of Ambleside.
We set off through the wooded area
The River Rothay with Loughrigg Fell in the background
Crossing the Rothay via the foot bridge
The path continues through a gladed area towards a wooden gate
Through the gate and turn right to get on the start of Loughrigg Terrace
Within minutes the views open up. Here we are looking towards Helm Crag

Walking along Loughrigg Terrace on a day like today is a complete joy

Continue to the very end of the Terrace and pick up the stone stepped path
on your right to head towards the summit
The gradient eases as you approach the shoulder of the Grasmere Cairn
On the upper reaches of the track there is a bit of mild scrambling
