Walk Overview

Probably the easiest and shortest walk of all the Outlying Fells
A very quirky and unique summit with fine views to be had all round

Parking at the Scout Scar car park


Parking at the Scout Scar car park just off the Underbarrow Road near Kendal

From the car park turn right


At the entrance to the car park turn right

The gate in the wall


Just across the road from the car park a gate leads on to a path

Walk through the gate


Walk through the gate and take the obvious path ahead

The path levels off


The path climbs very gently and swings left

The open fellside


On the open fell side now and it really is just a short walk on grass
towards the "Mushroom" - the summit of Scout Scar

Literally within around 10 minutes or so the summit of Scout Scar comes into view
