Walk Overview

Probably the most straightforward walk you will encounter on your Outlying
Fells challenge, with a very steep pull up to start with along a good track
all the way to the splendid summit Trig point cairn. Absolutely wonderful
views to be had on top

The car park at the start of the walk

Having just completed the Blawith Knott circuit (here) we drove 2 miles back down
the Woodland Fell Road towards the A5092 and parked the car in a large grassy
layby just off the road and at the start of this very rewarding short climb. The track
leading upwards can be seen in the background

Straight off the roadside the track starts to climb steeply

Just over the crest and there is some respite to the steep climb

An easy to follow path upto the summit

With the bulk of the steepest climbing out of the way the path can be
clearly seen leading directly to the summit

We had intended to just do a quick up and down, but this summit really
does give you a lot of bang for your buck, so we ended up staying for
over 30 minutes just taking in the wonderful views
